GET HELP
Who can use the Pantry?
Any resident of Stoneham who is facing food insecurity is able to obtain food from the Pantry. Before your first visit, we will ask you to fill out a brief registration form and provide proof of Stoneham residency in the form of a recent utility bill, mortgage statement, rental agreement, medical bill, excise tax bill or insurance bill (government issued IDs cannot be accepted). If you have questions about receiving help, please call and leave a message at 781-438-0097 or send an email to fccstonehampantry@gmail.com.
Where is the pantry located?
The pantry is located in the basement of the First Congregational Church at 1 Church Street, Stoneham MA. Orders are picked up from the pantry entrance at the front of the church, down the steps under the blue awning. If you are unable to navigate stairs, please ring the doorbell at the top of the stairway upon your arrival.
How do I get food?
The pantry is open by appointment on Thursdays between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm for pickup of food orders. If you are not physically capable of picking up your order or do not have access to transportation, we may be able to provide delivery.
You can schedule a monthly appointment by calling 781-438-0097 or sending an email to fccstonehampantry@gmail.com.
How do I place a food order?
Instead of pre-packaged bags, you are able to order the items you want and need from a printed order form or a pdf form which is emailed to you. We will provide you with the emailed form prior to your appointment. As our food selection changes each week, we will also send you an email with any changes to the form approximately one week prior to your appointment.
Your order must be submitted to the Pantry no later than 10:00 a.m. on the Monday prior to your Thursday appointment. This cutoff time is necessary to allow time for volunteers to shop for produce and pack the orders.
You may submit a pdf or image of your completed order by email to fccstonehampantry@gmail.com, mail the paper form to us, or place it in our mail slot which is located to the left of the center set of blue doors at One Church Street. If mailing the form, allow up to one week for us to receive it.
What kind of food is available?
Non-perishable food items, fresh produce, dairy products such as cheese and eggs, and frozen meats are generally available. We also have a limited supply of household cleaning items, personal care products, as well as baby diapers and wipes available.
What is the winter weather policy?
If the Stoneham Public Schools are CLOSED or the Town of Stoneham declares an emergency due to snow or other inclement weather, the Pantry will be closed for that day. If the Stoneham Public Schools have a DELAYED OPENING, the Pantry will take place as scheduled. Closures will also be posted on our Facebook page.
